So it's that point in time when I have to step up my game... Blogging on gnarlee.net has been quite a ride for the past few months... From 0 to a few hundred regular readers in 3-4 months... Even got in touch with some big names in the scene... But gnarlee.net was never meant to be more than a outlet for all the music that makes it through my headphones on a daily basis. While blogging my heart out, new ideas came up though... And they don't really fit into the concept and neither did the platform I used for it. I feel there is a need for a clean cut instead of morphing gnarlee into some hybrid monster blog...
To celebrate 4/20 and the forthcoming album release of ‘Cosmogramma’, Flying Lotus and members of his Brainfeeder crew descend on the Dublab studios for several hours to play some records and make some sounds especially for you. To open the show FlyLo will take you through the chosen cuts from his new LP, out 3rd / 4th May. Other likely participants include The Gaslamp Killer, Ras G, Daedelus, Teebs, Matthewdavid, Dr. Strangeloop and more.
GO HERE IN A FEW HOURS: http://flying-lotus.com/radioThe exact times so my global audience doesn't miss it :) Noon – LA, 15:00 – NYC, 20:00 – UK, 21:00 – CET, 04:00 – TOKYO And a little side note... Sorry for being a bit absent from updating this blog the past few days. Chill... No video footage or pics of her being drunk... Sorry, just felt like writing a gossip worthy headline haha :P
TOKi posted a tune today that she made slightly intoxicated after a post Low End Theory session. The formula looks like this according to Toki: 1 rhodes (for music and percussion) + a pair of car keys + 1 mobile audio interface + 1 mac + 1 drunk girl Let's hope this happens more often - really like this vibe!!
Theophilus London tackles the classic R'n'B tune "Oops" by Tweet.
Hudson Mohawke remixed the original ages ago, and it's exactly this
electronically haunted beat that Mr. London delivers his take on the
whole song. Lovely...
