I've written about my favourite summer chillout party before: The Do-Over in L.A. Founded by Aloe Blacc, Stones Throw behind-the-scenes architect Jamie Strong & Chris Haycock featuring a who's who of mystery guests. They have just started doing limited releases (1000 copies a piece) featuring exclusive tracks from their DJ guests.

Volume 1 offers up two neck snapping bangers courtesy of Flying Lotus (Warp/Brainfeeder) & House Shoes (debut release). All on a clear 10-inch vinyl with artwork/packaging by Steven Harrington. Now shipping from the Stonesthrow store.

The Boo Over.

I've only made it once to the Do-Over in my life so far, but I won't forget it. This Sunday afternoon delight takes place in Crane's Tavern, set in the side streets of Hollywood. The people are chilled, so are the drinks. There's usually sun, always a cozy atmosphere and every now and then you find yourself spilling a beer of your favorite Hip Hop artist. The Stonesthrow crew is a regular, also the Beat Junkies and many more. Plus Do-Over boasts one of the sickest DJ line-up every single Sunday afternoon. BUT the season is almost over and every Halloween the Do-Over crew comes together to celebrate the Boo-Over. Here are two DJ sets by Fashen and A-Trak some pics of the day.

But fear not - one last Do-Over party takes place this Sunday: The Left-Over. Head over there and check it out. You won't regret it. Next time I'm in Hollywood, I'll stop by no matter what. Love the Do-Over!!
