El P says: Back to the basics!
El P announced that he'll step back from being the label boss of Def Jux (Murs, Aesop Rock, Mr Lif, Cannibal Ox, Camutao, RJD2 and recent UK signee Dizzee Rascal)
Now that accounced would leave me crying because this dude has done an amazing job in creating a unique sound in HipHop that nobody can fake or recreate. I went to one of his live gigs in Sydney and even though the room was only half full, I have yet to see another HipHop gig with so much raw energy. Not just the energy that he puts into his lyrics but also the die hard fans, that rap every single line of his songs as if they were performing on stage themselves. The good thing about his move is, that wants to go back to the basics. Away from the business side and into the creative. Long studio nights and more performances. Can't blame him and I definitely appreciate his move. Read his fulll statement here.Leaving you with a song...
